Literary Crafts

Are you a crafty person? Give books a second life with these great ideas I came across on craft items you can make using old books.  Warning: This post contains the desecration of books which may not be tollerable to some viewers.

There are many versions of book wreaths
all around the internet. (I even saw one at Novel Journey the other day.)

Sculptures from books, almost limitless.

I think they'd make cute Christmas ornaments, too!
Here's another one in the shape of a heart.

I am definitely going to make one of these.
Wouldn't this be great if you were the book's author.

This is actually one that I made.

Book Stack Centerpiece - no tutorial
I've made these and it's a great decoration!

  3. Love this, Carla! I may talk my best friend into helping me with the wreath. That would be awesome.

  4. Hi Carla -

I've seen the book handbag before, but not the sculptures, wreath, or beads. Back when I did crafts, I saw someone stack books and decorate them with ribbons and dried flowers.

    Susan :)

  8. What fun ideas! There's a craftperson in my neck of the woods who makes notebooks out of old books. She rips the guts out and laces in blank sheets. Makes clocks out of them too. Very cool.
